Ant Treatments
Ants can damage gardens, structures, electrical cables, contaminate food, and may even inflict venomous and painful stings. While most at-home ant treatments only kill the ones you see, there are likely hundreds more out of sight.
Ants come in many different species therefore they should not all be treated the same way. For example: Pavement, Fire, Thatcher, and Carpenter ants are very common in our area, but all require a completely different means of treatment. Let us inspect and identify your ants so we can recommend the best possible means of control.
With more Styrofoam being used in modern construction, we are experiencing a rise in carpenter ant infestations in new homes as this product mimics some qualities in wood which these ants prefer. If you are seeing fine pieces of white, blue, or pink insulation piling up then you likely have a carpenter ant colony or satellite nest in your home. Also, if you are seeing mid to large size ants in mid winter, you most likely have a carpenter ant colony or satellite nest living in your home which will need to be addressed in the spring. These ants are fooled into thinking spring has sprung on a warm day as the sun begins to warm up walls, especially on the south/southwest side of your home. These ants inadvertently start looking for food but often end up dying on their own as they are low on energy. People often make the mistake of dismissing this in the spring when they expect to but no longer see the ants. This does not mean they have left your home; it just means you are no longer seeing them.
